This week, eight Ohio Academy of Family Physicians members joined family physicians from across the country in Washington, DC, to advocate for patients and family medicine on Capitol Hill.
Stan Anderson, MD; Bradley Christoph, DO; Anna Goroncy, MD; Gary LeRoy, MD; Julie Marcinek, DO; Nancy Mathieu, MD; Anna McMaster, MD; Sarah Sams, MD; and Mike Sevilla, MD; attended the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Family Medicine Advocacy Summit held May 20 at the Marriott Marquis. Attendees learned about the issues facing family medicine and best practices for sharing their stories with elected officials.
These members then spent May 21 on Capitol Hill calling on Ohio’s Congressional Delegation, using what they learned and advocating within the legislative process.
