After serving more than 27 years as executive vice president (EVP) of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) and the OAFP Foundation (Foundation), Ann M. Spicer officially retired on March 31, 2022.
As a way to honor her time with the OAFP and the Foundation and as a way to support the family medicine pipeline for Ohio, OAFP Past Presidents Mark Belfer, DO, Ross Black, MD, and Mary Jo Welker, MD, issued a member-wide challenge leading up to Ms. Spicer’s retirement.
A huge thank you to those that participated in the challenge. These individuals raised a collective $13,400 to support the Foundation’s mission to cultivate student career choice in the specialty of family medicine. For a list of those that participated as well as other foundation donors, visit the Donor page of the Foundation’s website.
The 2022 Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program is on target to have the largest cohort of student participants so it’s guaranteed that these generous donations will go straight to work making a difference!
