On behalf of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, Sarah Sams, MD, Mark McLoney, MD, Nancy Mathieu, MD; and Nate Overmire, DO, accepted an American Academy of Family Physicians Leadership in State Government Advocacy Award during the AAFP State Legislative Conference in Dallas, TX, November 3-4. The award recognized the OAFP’s advocacy in behalf of the Toledo Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and retaining its family medicine residency slots in the Toledo community.
Drs. Sams and McLoney were OAFP’s official representatives to the AAFP State Legislative Conference. Drs. Mathieu and Overmier are residents at the Ohio Health Grant Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, OH, and are both members of the OAFP Public Policy Committee.
