The OAFP Foundation is pleased to auction-off this unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade ballpoint pen.The pen is made with domestic hardwood, authentic Bethlehem Olivewood. The mechanisms for the pen were purchased and assembled after the body of the pen was completed.
This Bethlehem Olivewood pen is from Olivewood trees from the ancient city of Bethlehem, Israel. Obtained from a Bethlehem company that specializes in harvesting this wood, the tree can live 1,500 years or more. Its root system is so robust that it can regenerate the tree even if the above ground structure is destroyed. This dramatic and beautiful wood is milled from pruned limbs of trees that no longer produce fruit.
The pen was handmade and donated by Ohio Academy of Family Physicians member Stephen Justice, MD, from Fletcher, OH, and is valued at $100.
Bidding opens today and will close on Friday, December 8, at Noon. This would make a lovely holiday gift!
