The Ohio Department of Health is sharing important information about an ongoing botulism outbreak linked to powdered infant formula. Information about the outbreak is available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s webpage, Infant Botulism Outbreak Linked to Powdered Infant Formula, June 2026, and from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Outbreak Investigation of Infant Botulism: Powdered Infant Formula (June 2026).
All lots of Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula have been voluntarily recalled by Nara Organics, and the recalled product should not be used. Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula makes up less than 1% of all infant formula sold in the United States.
Suspected cases of infant botulism should be reported immediately by phone to the local health department in which the patient resides. Consultation with the Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
