Follow your dreams and do what you need to do to give the kind of care that you want to give to your patients. One of the most important things that we as an Academy are really trying to do is bring the joy back to family medicine. We do such a good job of taking care of our patients, but that comes at such a very high cost to us as individuals and our families; we are going to bring that joy of family medicine back to you.
That is the advice that the 69th OAFP President Ryan Kauffman, MD, would like to share with all of you, his fellow Ohio family physicians.
The founder of Hickory Medical Direct Primary Care in Bellefontaine, OH, Dr. Kauffman was installed as president on August 13 during the Members Assembly. He shared with the members his journey from personal burnout to joy with his current direct primary care practice.
