New for 2021, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) will be launching a new member education program designed to help you learn how to lead change, provide stability, improve your care team’s morale, and boost physician well-being in your workplace.
You have the opportunity to apply for the first cohort of the Leading Physician Well-Being program, a tuition-free certificate program from the AAFP and the United Health Foundation that’s designed to help you spearhead change in your practice or organization.
- Physician well-being
- Leadership development
- Performance improvement.
The program will include a 10-month series of livestreamed and in-person events, along with regular online learning activities. Review a tentative schedule of program activities.
“It is truly a one of a kind program,” said Clif Knight, MD, FAAFP, AAFP’s senior vice president for education. “Our vision is development of a whole generation of early career, women, and underrepresented in medicine family physicians as leaders within their organizations and the health care system. Participating in a program like this would normally cost several thousands of dollars but the AAFP is offering this opportunity to members with no registration fees,” continued Dr. Knight.
The application period for the 2021 cohort is open now through Monday, November 2. Applicants selected will be notified in early December and must confirm their participation by mid-January. All AAFP active members are eligible for the Leading Physician Well-Being program. Residents are eligible if they have the support of their residency program.
