“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” – Albert Schweitzer, MD, Nobel Prize winner and noted physician.
As the holiday season and end of the year draws near, so does the opportunity to take a deep breath and recognize the people and events that have positively influenced your daily life. By taking an intentional moment to reflect on these profound, personal connections, your cognitive appreciation makes you a happier, healthier version of yourself.
Join your peers for the next Wellness Wednesdays session when you will learn how to master the art of gratitude.
Set for Wednesday, December 13, at 12:15 p.m., free registration is open for members and their care teams to participate in the program. This session, the last on the 2017 series calendar, is dedicated to teaching healthy techniques and practices that will help family physicians become more focused on their own personal wellness.
“It’s fitting that the final session of the year is dedicated to the positive aspects of gratitude and its benefits on physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness,” said Nelson Heise, clinical director at the Ohio Physicians Health Program and the facilitator of the OAFP’s Wellness Wednesdays program. “Together, we will demonstrate how to harness the power of positive perspective as a value tool for overall health,” continued Heise. Register today.
Wellness Wednesdays is a structured, monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness through the joy of medicine. The series is facilitated by a licensed health care professional, is offered free to physician members, and takes place the third Wednesday of each month over the typical lunch hour (12:15 – 1:00 p.m.)
Participants will start each session with a brief overview of the discussion topic and then led through a practical exercise that helps the participant learn through self-exploration and personal awareness. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own insight at the end of the 45-minute program and make connections with their peers who are also interested in wellness and professional satisfaction.
Archives of the previously recorded sessions and resources can be accessed on the OAFP website.
