
Registration is open until Friday, May 14 for this year’s virtual Chief Resident Workshop from the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians’ (OAFP). Set for Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., this specialized training will provide incoming chief residents with the leadership tools needed to have a successful academic year and the opportunity to build a network with fellow family medicine chiefs.
The interactive workshop includes large group learning sessions, small group discussions, a current chief resident Q&A panel, a leadership message from experienced residency directors, networking time, and an introduction to the American Board of Family Medicine.
- Understanding common challenges faced by chief residents, particularly when first starting their role
- Developing a plan for how to work effectively with your team of chief residents
- Discovering common barriers against leading change and how to overcome those barriers
- Developing an approach to effectively resolve conflicts
- Reviewing common best practices and pitfalls when creating schedules, and much more!
