On Friday, April 22, the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians will hold a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiners Training Course at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Florence, KY, from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Effective May 21, 2014, all health care professionals who perform physical examinations and issue medical certificates for interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers are required to complete an accredited certification training course and pass an examination. Medical examiners that complete the training and successfully pass the test are included in an online directory on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners website.
After you complete the DOT seminar and receive your certificate, you will need to locate a testing center near you and schedule your exam. All DOT Medical Examiner Certification information may be accessed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners website.
For more information and to register for the training course, please contact Janice Hechesky or call 888.287.9339.
