On July 30, during the 2016 American Academy of Family Physicians’ National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students (National Conference) held in Kansas City, MO, Ohio Academy of Family Physicians medical student member Kelsey Murray was selected to serve as the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) Network National Coordinator.
Active in the AAFP and the OAFP since she began medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, OH, in 2012, Ms. Murray has attended the National Conference during the past four years.
Ms. Murray served as Region 1 FMIG Coordinator for the AAFP in 2015 and 2016. In that role, she managed the coordination between the AAFP and 27 medical schools on the West Coast as well as helped to plan and execute sessions for the National Conference.
Ms. Murray is a familiar face at OAFP meetings having specifically served as a member of the OAFP Communications Commission and Practice Transformation Commission. She also served as the student representative on the Central Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors.
