Lyme disease and other tickborne illnesses continue to increase and cause significant morbidity in Ohio. The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) continues to enhance surveillance and build public awareness through education in an effort to prevent tickborne disease cases.
ODH is requesting assistance from physicians and other healthcare professionals to improve the detection of human cases by considering Lyme disease and other tickborne diseases in the differential diagnosis for patients that present with appropriate symptoms.
A memo from the ODH Bureau of Infectious Diseases provides additional information and resources.
