The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is excited to announce that Boehringer Ingelheim (BI), a global leader in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) awareness and education, has made a commitment to family medicine in Ohio by becoming OAFP’s latest Partners in Health.
OAFP’s Partners in Health Program is an online resource that contains links to organizations that provide patient education and high-value tools designed to support family physicians and their care teams deliver optimal frontline care. The corporate and community organizations that become Partners in Health share a vision for a healthy Ohio by advancing the work of family physicians across the state.
BI joins the distinguished ranks of partners which includes the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Please visit the OAFP’s Partners in Health webpage featuring:
- Boehringer Ingelheim’s educational materials on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF). IPF is a progressive and fatal interstitial lung disease that causes fibrosis in the lungs and is often confused with other common respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and congestive heart failure. Online resources including an IPF lung sounds video are available to help family physicians and their patients recognize the signs of IPF.
- American Cancer Society’s educational resources on cancer related topics along with links to colorectal cancer screening and HPV vaccination guides to improve practice performance and patient outcomes.
- Ohio Department of Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Control program’s promotion of a no-cost, self-paced continuing education program, Cancer Survivorship E-Learning Series for Primary Care Providers, a program of the National Cancer Survivorship Resource Center, which provides a forum to educate primary care providers about how to better understand and care for cancer survivors.
The Academy is extremely grateful to our corporate and community organizations that have made the commitment to family medicine by becoming an OAFP Partners in Health.
