The American Academy of Family Physicians and Family Medicine for America’s Health are seeking two AAFP members to participate in a yearlong health equity fellowship.
The 2018-19 AAFP Health Equity Fellowship is designed to develop family physicians into leaders who have subject matter expertise in the social, institutional, and cultural influences that impact health.
Through the program, fellows will gain knowledge and experience in translating the concepts of health equity into clinical practice. Fellows will learn from leading experts in the fields of medical education, research, public health, and health care policy. After the yearlong fellowship, participants will be equipped to facilitate change to improve their local communities and primary care.
The application deadline is Thursday, September 28. To apply, complete the AAFP’s conflict of interest form and send a curriculum vitae (CV), letter of interest, a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with your skills in addressing the social determinants of health, and a letter of support from the applicant’s institution, practice, or department chair to Danielle Jones with the subject line Health Equity Fellows.
