During the annual Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Members Assembly, the OAFP Foundation hosted a variety of fundraising activities to support its mission throughout the year. This year’s activities brought in over $9,000, beating last year’s totals by $1,000! Attendees participated in a wine cork pull and Past Presidents’ Quilt raffle.
Each of the fundraising activities raised funds to support the Foundation’s mission to cultivate student career choice in the specialty of family medicine. More specifically, the funds raised during the Members Assembly will directly benefit the 70 medical students that participated in the 2017 Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program – the highest amount of student participants in the program’s history!
The Foundation appreciates all of its generous donors! Thanks to all who participated in this year’s events!
Keep an eye out for future articles in the Weekly Family Medicine Update to learn about student experiences in the Preceptorship Program.
