The Ohio Department of Health Asthma Program is seeking feedback on Ohio Medicaid’s Unified Preferred Drug List (UPDL). The deadline for providing feedback is Monday, April 20.
The UPDL requires the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s managed-care plans (MCP) to use its single preferred list of medications, reducing confusion for Medicaid members, their health care providers, and pharmacists. Respiratory agents start on page 104.
For more information on the UPDL, please visit the UPDL page on ODM’s website.
Things to consider when reviewing the UPDL:
- Did it require any significant changes in your work in terms of new drugs covered or drugs no longer covered?
- What kind of communication have you had with providers or plan members with respect to any changes?
- What kind of feedback have you received from providers and/or plan members?
- Do you expect any financial ramifications – either cost increases or decreases as a result of this?
- Have you identified any pain points or barriers in terms of implementation?
- Please also consider: Is it helpful? How easy/difficult it is to use and navigate? Does it cover medication you often prescribe, manage, or coordinate?
Please submit your feedback by Monday, April 20.
