Ohio has several laws intended to promote the accessibility of epinephrine auto-injectors. A frequently asked questions (FAQ) document, Pharmacy Laws on Epinephrine Auto-Injectors, issued by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy (SOBP) on January 31, provides a general overview of the following laws:
- Section 4729.382 – Pharmacist’s authority to dispense an epinephrine auto-injector by substitution
- Section 4729.47 – Authority to dispense epinephrine without a prescription (FAQ starts on page 5 of this document).
For questions regarding either section of the Ohio Revised Code, please review the FAQ. If you need additional information, the most expedient way to have your questions answered is to e-mail the SOBP.
