Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Institute scholarships will provide 30 recipients (15 medical students and 15 residents) $1,000 to attend the Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Institute Saturday-Sunday, July 29-30. Participation includes National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students (National Conference) attendance from Thursday-Saturday, July 27-29. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 1.
Scholars may choose one of three leadership development tracks of study including Policy & Public Health Leadership, Personal & Practice Leadership, and Philanthropic & Mission-Driven Leadership. Immediately following the in-depth leadership workshops, participants work with a family physician mentor to focus on a project related to their track of study.
Projects will be evaluated with award recognition given as appropriate to the top two students and top two residents in each of the three respective tracks. Project award winners receive an additional $1,000 scholarship to return as a presenter at the following year’s National Conference. One Best Project Award will be determined for each track (either a student or resident) with the recipient being given a $3,000 scholarship to participate in a special experience related to his/her track.
