Ohio physicians are required to complete one hour of Duty to Report continuing medical education (CME) every renewal cycle. Starting in June, the State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBOO) will release a new version of the video that will be hosted on a different platform than previous versions. The Duty to Report CME will also include important Senate Bill 109 updates.
Once released, the SMBO will provide a link to the video and instructions about how to obtain proof of completion to save in your records in case of an audit.
For more information about the Duty to Report requirement, visit the SMBO website.

For years, organized medicine was successful in fighting off mandated special interest CME in the legislature. When OSMB switched from paper to online renewal they found a run around to stick us with mandated CME of their choosing. You could no longer quickly renew on a busy day but had to stop and take time to watch a video. To my recollection this was started without advance notice to us. The first topic of all things was human trafficking. We already did Duty to Report once (aka You are all Our Snitches Now), what next? I’m not saying Human Trafficking, etc is not important but everyone has a topic they want to put out there in front of physicians and we need to be vigilant as an organization and not just take it laying down. Just my 2 cents.
