Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Past President and American Academy of Family Physicians Director Sarah Sams, MD, FAAFP, was recently interviewed and featured in the Good Housekeeping article “7 Top Measles Symptoms to Be Aware of during the Surge.”
In the article, Dr. Sams recalls being sent to the emergency room during a rural rotation to see a measles case. She also addresses vaccine misinformation; measles symptoms and what makes an infection dangerous; and treatment and prevention.
“To not vaccinate is really taking a step back in public health, not just for your own risk, but for the risk of others around you,” said Dr. Sams.
