Louita Edje, MD, has been elected as a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) Council on Medical Education. The election was held at the recent interim meeting of the AMA.
Dr. Edje is associate dean of graduate medical education and professor of medical education at the University of Cincinnati Department of Family and Community Medicine.
A longtime leader in organized medicine, Dr. Edje was named the 2012 Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) Family Physician of the Year. She serves on the OAFP Awards Selection Committee, is an active member of the Ohio State Medical Association, and has served both the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati and the Academy of Medicine in Toledo and Lucas County in leadership roles.
