The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s (USPSTF) draft recommendations on screening all adults for drug misuse spurred media interest in the implications and implementation of the proposal.
The Los Angeles Times and STAT turned to American Academy of Family Physicians President-Elect Gary LeRoy, MD, FAAFP, of Dayton, OH, for his expertise in screening patients for opioid use disorder in light of the USPSTF draft. His expertise also was featured in “How Should Primary Care Physicians Talk to Patients About Drug Use?” in the online publication Filter and in the article, “USPSTF Proposes Screening all Adults for Illicit Drug Use” published in Advisory Board, an online publication for health care industry leaders.
