Dr. Thibert has also served three times as resident delegate to the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians’ annual meeting, has twice represented Ohio residents as their delegate to National Conference, and is a member of the OAFP Public Policy Committee.
As a medical student at the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, FL, She was elected and served as president of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) in Washington, DC.
OAFP President Stan Anderson, MD, in his letter of chapter support for Dr. Thibert stated, As AMSA president, Dr. Thibert lead an organization of 40,000 physicians-in-training. Through this role, she honed her abilities to represent a large organization of members with varying interests. She learned what it means to hold a fiduciary role as an association board member. She understands the importance of making decisions that are both in the best interest of the organization, while advancing the organization toward goals and objectives the members desire. Having chaired the AMSA Board of Trustees and served as a member of the AMSA Foundation Board, Dr. Thibert understands of the differences between management and governance and, as a result, is well equipped to serve on the AAFP Board of Directors.”
“We, the members of her state chapter, have great confidence in Dr. Thibert,” Dr. Anderson concluded. “She will represent AAFP resident members on the AAFP Board with excellence, skill and passion.”
Good luck, Dr. Thibert!
