The OAFP Foundation is proud to honor Jaividhya Dasarathy, MD, of Cleveland with this year’s Family Physician Mentorship Award.
Dr. Dasarathy currently practices full spectrum family medicine including OB in Cleveland. She is the director of research education and global health in the department of family medicine at the Metro Health Medical Center and is an associate professor at Case Western Reserve University.
“Dr. Dasarathy embodies what it means to be a mentor. Those fortunate enough to spend time with her quickly learn that she truly cares about them as individuals, and about their education and growth,” said Arjun Sunny Dhoopar, MD, from Summa Health Medical Group and Akron City Hospital.
“Dr. Dasarathy showed one-hundred percent investment in her work and her patients, and by working side by side with her each day, I was constantly reminded of why I chose family medicine and the positive changes that one can make in the lives of their patients and on the future generation of family medicine,” stated second-year medical student Aaron Hawke.
Dr. Dasarathy is a strong advocate for her patients, students, and residents, and has presented both at national and international levels. She has developed curriculum, teaching material, has published a number of peer-reviewed articles, and a book chapter.
Dr. Dasarathy was celebrated this past weekend during the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Academy Awards Dinner in Columbus, OH.
Congratulations, Dr. Dasarathy!
