In an opinion-editorial (op-ed) Doctors Must Improve Efforts to Fight Addiction, Brian Bachelder, MD, describes the three undeniable truths surrounding Ohio’s prescription drug abuse and heroin epidemic: progress has been made, more needs to be done, and collective efforts to treat patients with substance use disorders must expand. The op-ed piece was published on May 6 in The Columbus Dispatch.
Dr. Bachelder is the current president of the Ohio State Medical Association and past president of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.
