The Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) is asking Ohio Academy of Family Physicians members to join their call to action on House Bill (HB) 191. The Ohio House Health Committee is considering pending legislation that would significantly expand the scope of practice of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).
HB 191, which is getting a wave of support from nurses around the state, threatens to fundamentally change how physicians and CRNAs work together in a collaborative manner by broadening the scope of practice of CRNAs and adding undefined prescriptive authority.
Please visit the OSMA’s Advocacy Action Center to send a letter to your elected officials and urge them to not support this legislation. We must let them know physicians in Ohio strongly oppose this legislation!
