As the weather gets warmer and summer nears, save the date for the 2016 Members Assembly!
Registration will open soon…until then, mark your calendar and plan to be at the Columbus Marriott Northwest in Dublin, OH, Saturday-Sunday, August 13-14.
You won’t want to miss this year’s sessions! Hear from experts on topics such as MACRA and physician resiliency. You’ll also learn about the Academy’s new strategic plan. We hope you’ll take lots of joy and the Academy’s 20/20 vision for the future back to your practice!
MACRA Session: The U.S. health care system is on the precipice of ground-breaking, knock-your-socks off change that opens the door to a whole new era of Medicare physician payment. Attend this session to hear from the American Academy of Family Physicians leading expert on what family physicians can do now to prepare, where things currently stand, and what’s coming up on the horizon. Resources are available to help you figure out which path is right for you.
Family Physician Well-Being, Resiliency, and Burnout Session: According to a 2013 Medscape survey, more than 40% of U.S. physicians reported experiencing at least one symptom of burnout. A 2012 study in JAMA Internal Medicine found that more than one-third of physicians were burned out. These figures are startling. The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is dedicated to finding ways to shift this data and help its members put “life” back into their professional life.
Laughs, continuing medical education, comradery, inspiration – whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it at this year’s Members Assembly!
