It’s time to celebrate!
As we look into our past, sometimes it can be a reminder of where we’ve been and the future possibilities that are still yet to come. Today, we launch the “Cheers to 70 Years” campaign, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, founded in 1948. This year-long campaign highlights the history and future of family medicine, and we want all of our members to be involved.
From the aspiring medical student who hopes to one day open their own practice to the experienced family physician paving the way, every member who joins the OAFP brings different experiences and reasons for why they choose or decide to practice family medicine.
We are so excited share our members’ stories on the Family Medicine Stories webpage and hope they encourage current and past members to reconnect and rekindle the joy of family medicine!
We need your family medicine story to help make this the most celebrated and best year yet! Please send it as a Word or plain text document between 200-1,000 words along with two photos to Communications Manager Morgan Pelt. If you have a Twitter or Facebook account and would like for us to tag you, please provide that in your email.
Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook. All year-long, we will be sharing family medicine stories on social media on the 7th of each month along with posting throwback photos every Thursday. Join in the celebration by using our official anniversary hashtag #70YearsOAFP.
In addition, we are thrilled to host the 2018 Family Medicine Celebration where we will not only recognize our accomplishments, but also celebrate our history. Watch for registration to open soon!
