The next session of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians’ (OAFP) Bite-Sized Learning program is set for Sunday, May 9, at 8 p.m. This week’s session is titled “PRECSION-Using Evidence-based Tools to Advance the Identification and Management of Uncontrolled Asthma.” Members can join the conversation by logging on to the OAFP’s Facebook page or YouTube channel to watch live.
Moderated by OAFP President Mike Sevilla, MD, this session will feature Shyam Subramanian, MD, FCCP, section chief, pulmonary and critical care at the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation in Northern California, and chief of specialty clinics. Dr. Subramanian currently serves as chair of the clinical pulmonary network, American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), and on the executive committee of the Council of Networks through the ACCP. He also serves on advisory boards and speaker panels for multiple pharmaceutical companies and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications.

- Sunday, May 16, at 8 p.m., with medical student Varun Gopinath. Mr. Gopinath will share updates on his project, “Utilizing StoryCorps as a narrative medicine approach to understand the effects of COVID-19 amongst seniors in the Fairfax neighborhood, Cleveland, OH,” which was part of the 2020 American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Emerging Leader Institute.
