We are all craving time to connect and figure out ways to reimagine or reinvent daily protocols and processes in practice. What better way to close this gap and find solutions than to learn directly from your Ohio Academy of Family Physician peers?
The OAFP will be launching a series of Bite-Sized Learning Sessions as an opportunity for members to come together during a time when connecting and learning from each other is crucial. Join OAFP member presenters as they share their story of transition, practice pivot, or a newfound joy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The OAFP will host these mildly-moderated learning sessions on Sunday evenings (as we have speakers and topics), beginning at 8 p.m. Members can join the conversation by logging on to the OAFP Facebook page to watch live. We’ll open with a brief welcome and turn it over to the member presenter to share. Following their story, we’ll open it up for questions and answer through Facebook comments before signing off. The sessions will be 30 minutes or less!
Our first session will be Sunday, May 17, at 8 p.m. with OAFP member and American Academy of Family Physicians Alternate Delegate Ryan Kauffman, MD, FAAFP. Dr. Kauffman will share his tale of quickly transitioning to 50% telemedicine in just seven days. Plus, he will explain how he turned this practice change into credit towards his American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Family Medicine Certification activity requirements through the new ABFM COVID-19 Self-Directed pathway option. He’ll talk you through step-by-step so that you can earn credit for all of the rapid changes happening.
The learning sessions will be recorded and available on the OAFP Facebook page, OAFP YouTube page, as well as through the OAFP website for future viewing.
If you have suggestions for future learning sessions or have a story to tell yourself, please contact Kaitlin McGuffie.
