The Family Medicine Education Consortium Inc. (FMEC) seeks to connect those interested in strengthening family medicine and primary care in the Northeast Region of the United States.
To achieve these intentions, the FMEC sponsors an annual meeting that brings together 300 family physicians from academic and community-based practices, 200 family medicine residents, and more than 250 medical students.
This year’s meeting is set for Friday-Sunday, October 28-30, at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.
Medical students are eligible to receive scholarship funding to attend. Register today!
During the meeting more than 200 presentations are offered. The meeting provides a forum for participants to share information about educational, clinical, policy, and research issues affecting primary health care. It also provides an opportunity for individuals to develop relationships with others with common academic and clinical interests.
In addition to the educational programming, the meeting includes a residency fair, an exhibitor’s hall, and a special program for employers seeking to hire family physicians.
The OAFP Foundation supports the FMEC Northeast Region Meeting each year by providing $1,000 in student scholarships to support two Ohio students.
