May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness month. In an effort to continue to provide awareness of asthma, one of the most prevalent, lifelong chronic disease, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) would like to highlight a few resources available to physicians, their teams, and patients to assist in their asthma awareness and educational journey.
- American Lung Association
Whether you are a physician, other healthcare professional, asthma educator, teacher, staff or patient advocate, it is important to stay informed about asthma care, resources, and support options. The American Lung Association offers comprehensive educational programs and resources that are proven effective to help physicians and other healthcare professionals, adults living with asthma and their caretakers, and parents to better understand asthma and to improve asthma management and overall quality of life. - Asthma Resource Center
Offered by PRECISION, this resource is an unbranded initiative of AstraZeneca Medical Affairs and is dedicated to improving the identification and assessment of patients with uncontrolled asthma and accelerating the awareness of precision medicine in practice. PRECISION resources include a checklist for physicians to use with patients during clinic visits to help assess items that may be appropriate for your patient. - EasyPI: Asthma
If you’d like to take your focus on asthma to a deeper level, utilize tools in the EasyPI: Asthma track to enhance your efforts by creating a performance improvement project on asthma care for your patients. This track, sponsored by AstraZeneca, a proud Partner in Health of the OAFP, is sure to have all of the resources and information you need!
This spotlight is proudly supported by our Partner in Health, AstraZeneca Medical Affairs – Respiratory Division; however, all content and data come from independent sources.
