Between focusing on serving your patients and the cancellation of all live, in-person American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and Ohio Academy of Family Physicians continuing medical education (CME) events through Sunday, May 31, we want to make sure you have one less thing to worry about.
Thus, we are making the following changes related to CME requirements and dues, effective immediately:
- Any members whose CME re-election cycle ends on Thursday, December 31, 2020, and who have not yet met the CME requirement will have an additional year to do so. Further details on this change can be found on the AAFP website.
- Members whose three-year cycle ended on December 31, 2019, will now have until Thursday, December 31, 2020, to report their CME to remain eligible for membership (original deadline was May 5, 2020).
- Any members who have not yet paid their 2020 dues will now have until Tuesday, July 14, 2020, to submit payment. In an effort to make it easier on your budget, you can sign up online today or call 800.274.2237 to renew your membership through monthly installments. The installment plan will spread your 2020 dues balance out monthly through December.
You aren’t facing these challenging times alone—the Academy is here to support you every step of the way. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you as a member and hope these changes provide you with the flexibility you need to remain an AAFP/OAFP member.
