On December 7, 2018, the American Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors voted to endorse the candidacy of Robyn Chatman, MD, MPH, FAAFP, CPE, CPHIMS, CHEP, of Cincinnati, OH, for the American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees. Dr. Chatman’s candidacy is also endorsed by the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.
A member of the OAFP and the AAFP since 2002, Dr. Chatman served as Ohio’s minority representative to the National Conference of Special Constituencies in 2009 and also served as OAFP’s southwest region representative on Governor Ted Strickland’s Health Care Coverage and Quality Council. While she began her career in private practice, she has worked in diverse practice settings including a federally qualified health center, a multispecialty group, and a hospital-owned group.
In her many leadership roles in the House of Medicine, Dr. Chatman brings the family physician perspective to tables where key decisions are made. She hopes to continue to bring the voice of the everyday practicing family physician to the AMA Board through service as a trustee.
Dr. Chatman is also endorsed for AMA trustee by the Great Lakes Coalition, the Ohio State Medical Association, the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Medical Association.
Congratulations, Dr. Chatman, and best wishes for a successful campaign!
