Family Medicine Celebration Student Track & Residency Fair
Saturday, August 15
The Grand Event Center
Columbus, OH
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is thrilled to introduce a new feature of the 2026 Family Medicine Celebration – a Student Track featuring workshop sessions and a Residency Fair!
Student Track
Workshop Sessions
Hands-on workshops designed to introduce common outpatient procedures and clinical skills used in family medicine practice. No previous experience needed, these are learning opportunities for students at all levels.
Residency Fair
Ohio is home to 38 family medicine residency programs all with unique characteristics. Uniting them together is the drive for each program to consistently provide high quality training with dedicated faculty, staff, and residents. With rural, suburban, and urban settings; small to large classes; brand-new programs and long-standing institutions, medical students have an abundance of options to choose from to find a great fit for their next step to becoming a physician.
Connect with program directors, faculty, residents, and program staff at the Residency Fair as you explore options for your residency training. This is a prime opportunity for fourth-year medical students to get a “last look” before Match registration opens, as well as for first-, second-, and third-year students to meet programs in person and start researching what a great residency fit may look like.
Participating Residency Programs
Residency programs will be posted as they confirm participation.

The Grand Event Center
Columbus, OH
Residency Program Registration
After hearing requests from both programs and medical students for an in-person, family medicine-focused connection opportunity in Ohio, the OAFP is excited to introduce a Residency Fair as part of the Student Track during the Family Medicine Celebration! The OAFP looks forward to providing a space to bring our numerous residency programs and students together prior to the 2026 Match.
The Residency Fair is open to medical students at all levels, and we anticipate medical students in years 1-4 attending. The OAFP will provide a total number of students to expect closer to the event date. Registrations for the Residency Fair are due by Wednesday, August 5.
- A draped, six-foot table with two chairs to display program information, handouts, giveaways, signage, etc.
- One and a half hours of dedicated time to connect with OAFP student members committed to or strongly considering family medicine.
- Promotion as a participating program on the OAFP website; in Residency Fair promotions to medical student members such as e-newsletters, direct to member emails, and social media; and recognition in a post-event email to medical student attendees.
- A passport program will be utilized to encourage students to visit each program at the Residency Fair.
