Advancing Innovation in Family Medicine Residency Education: Exploring the FM AIRE Initiative

On November 22, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians hosted an informative webinar on the Advancing Innovation in Residency Education Initiative for Family Medicine (FM AIRE), a collaborative effort between the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Review Committee for Family Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).

This webinar, moderated by Jay Fetter, MSHA, from the ABFM, provided an overview of the FM AIRE initiative, which aims to explore the outcomes of an additional fourth year of education and training in family medicine residency programs, and featured experiences from two FM AIRE programs by Stephen Auciello, MD, FAAFP, from the Riverside Methodist Family Medicine Residency Program in Columbus, OH, and Joe Skariah, DO, MBA, MPH, from the Oregon Health and Sciences Family Medicine Residency Program in Portland, OR.
