In its ongoing effort to combat prescription drug abuse, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy announced that ProComp Software has successfully completed direct integration with the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS).
By integrating directly with OARRS, prescribers using this electronic health record (EHR) system now have instant access to a patient’s controlled substance history without having to login to a separate system.
This integration will cover clinicians at 30 Ohio substance abuse treatment centers as well as behavioral health clinics located in 42 Ohio counties. In October 2015, Governor John Kasich announced an investment of up to $1.5 million a year to integrate OARRS directly into EHRs and pharmacy dispensing systems across the state.
