Four Ohio medical students have been recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians for their interest in family medicine and commitment to providing patient-centered care. Each winner will receive a Family Medicine Leads scholarship provided by the AAFP Foundation to attend the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Student Members (National Conference).

The $600 scholarship helps to cover out-of-pocket travel expenses for students and residents to attend the National Conference. A record 835 scholarship applications were received and 220 Family Medicine Leads Scholarships were awarded.
Family Medicine Leads Scholarships for the National Conference are comprised of the following categories: First-Time Student Attendee; Minority Scholarship for Family Medicine Residents; Minority Scholarship for Medical Students; Scholarship for Residents and Returning Students; and FMIG Leadership Award.
The Family Medicine Leads scholarships for the National Conference are provided by the AAFP Foundation, and made possible by the donations of family physicians from across the country.
