Annual Fundraising Activities

Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (OAFP/F) annual fundraising activities are held each August in conjunction with the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Members Assembly.

The following activities are OAFP/F’s major annual fundraisers that benefit its programs:

Silent Auction

The silent auction is one of OAFP/F’s major fundraising events with proceeds benefiting its programs.

The success of the silent auction is dependent on the generous donation of items from OAFP members, their office staff and patients; small businesses; pharmaceutical companies; local businesses and OAFP regional chapters. Donations may be in the form of an auction item or cash.

Historically, OAFP/F sees the highest bidding generated from OSU memorabilia, sporting event tickets, vacation/weekend get-a-ways, golf packages, theme baskets, jewelry, artwork, antiques, crystal/glassware, and Ohio or family medicine themed items. Unique and hard to find items are also popular.

All donations to the auction are considered tax-deductible, charitable contributions.

OAFP Past Presidents’ Quilt

A tradition of fundraising for OAFP/F programs through an annual quilt raffle was begun by Diane Todd and OAFP auxiliary members in 1990. In 2000, a new twist on this tradition was introduced when OAFP Past Presidents Drs. Mark Belfer, Ross Black, II and Mary Jo Welker sponsored the purchase of the quilt so that all raffle proceeds would benefit OAFP/F programs. This tradition has grown and each year more past presidents join in sponsoring the quilt raffle with all proceeds benefiting OAFP/F programs.
