Annual Fundraising Activities

Each summer, in conjunction with the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Members Assembly, the OAFP Foundation hosts a variety of fundraising activities to support its mission.

The Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the many OAFP members, Foundation trustees, family, friends, staff, and volunteers whose generosity, participation, and support helped achieve donations totaling over $8,000 during the 2016 August fundraising activities!

The following activities are the Foundation’s major annual fundraisers that benefit its programs:

OAFP Past Presidents’ Quilt

Purchase Tickets

A tradition of fundraising for Foundation programs through an annual quilt raffle was begun by Diane Todd and the OAFP auxiliary members in 1990. In 2000, a new twist on this tradition was introduced when OAFP Past Presidents Mark Belfer, DO; Ross Black, II, MD; and Mary Jo Welker, MD; sponsored the purchase of the quilt so that all raffle proceeds would benefit the Foundation’s programs.

This tradition has grown each and each year more past presidents join in sponsoring the quilt raffle.

Tickets will be for sale during the Members Assembly on Saturday, August 12. Tickets are one for $10, six for $50, and 12 for $100. To purchase tickets in advance of the Members Assembly, visit the Foundation’s online donation portal or include them in your registration for the Members Assembly.

Wine Cork Pull

2014_Wine_Cork_PullIn 2012, the Wine Cork Pull was introduced as part of the Foundation’s 25th Anniversary celebratory activities and was a huge success and continues to grow each year!

For the cost of $20 per chance, Wine Cork Pull participants have an opportunity to win from a variety of bottled wines valued from $20 and up.

Donations of wine for this event are needed each year. The value of the donated wine is considered a tax-deductible charitable contribution with all proceeds directly benefiting Foundation programs.

To donate wine, complete the donation form and send it to Director of Events and Foundation Programs Kaitlin McGuffie by faxing it to 614.267.9191, emailing it to, or mailing it to 4075 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214.
