Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (OAFP/F) is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the philanthropic arm of Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP). Its mission is to improve and increase access to quality health care for all Ohioans by generating student interest in the specialty of family medicine.
OAFP/F values the specialty of family medicine and promotes its choice to medical students, family medicine residents and to the general public.
All of its efforts are made possible through the donations of family physicians, corporate members, OAFP regional chapters and others who provide voluntary financial support for OAFP/F. It also receives support from American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (AAFP Foundation) and AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium. OAFP/F regularly communicates with OAFP members to provide information on programs and scholarship opportunities.
OAFP/F is the only charitable organization in Ohio that exists to improve and increase access to quality health care by investing in the specialty of family medicine. Family physicians provide comprehensive, continuing care to all members of a family thus contributing substantially to a healthier quality of life and valuable health care cost containment measures.
