The Robert S. Young, M.D., Legislative Conference & Reception, organized by the OAFP Legislation and Advocacy Commission, is held biennially and designed to provide family physicians with the tools they need to be effective participants in the legislative and regulatory arenas.

This program focuses on legislative and regulatory topics and features a session on effective grassroots advocacy techniques. Traditionally, nearly 70 family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students attend this event.

In 2009, the Robert S. Young, M.D., Legislative Conference & Reception was held on May 13 at the Verne Riffe Center in Columbus, Ohio. Details of the 2011 conference have not yet been scheduled.
