Each August, members of OAFP come together to determine the policies and priorities of the organization during a two-day conference. In addition to the business and committee meetings held throughout the weekend, the conference offers continuing medical education (CME) on topics of current importance to the approximately 100 members in attendance. As part of assembly activities, special recognition is given to the OAFP Family Physician of the Year and Family Medicine Educator of the Year. Also, those members reaching their 50-years-in-medicine milestones are honored for their service.
